Job Title: Center-Based Head ABA Teacher

This position is located in our newly renovated Jerome Therapy Center in the Bronx. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for providing direct instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for classroom of 18 – 36-month-old students
• Ensure supervision and safety of assigned students in classroom
• Identify the needs of children in classroom through formal and informal needs assessments
• Participate in parent workshops regarding educating parents on ABA strategies and techniques, dealing with behavioral challenges, reinforcing positive behaviors and working on common goals to ensure parent carry overs in the home
• Prepare and submit daily session notes, progress reports and other paperwork timely and accurately
• Oversee all classroom functions and teachers’ aides
• Train and support classroom aides on ABA and its techniques
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with parents/caregivers
• Collaborate with teachers and ensure all programs are appropriate and individualized

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education (0-2 Grade)
• Valid and current certificate (one (1) minimum):
  • New York State Certified Special Education Teacher
  • Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH)
  • Teacher of Students with Disabilities Birth – 2nd Grade
  • Teacher of Students with Speech
  • Hearing and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
• Experience working with students with autism and other special needs
• Experience in discrete trial training
• Experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
• Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
• Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
