You will be providing evidence-based, behavioral therapy to children on the autistic spectrum. Our multi-modal program incorporates both directive and naturalistic teaching methods tailored to the specific needs of each client and family.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide OT; fine motor and sensory integration therapy in a Center-Based environment
• Evaluate the patient’s level of physical functioning
• Document all sessions
• Responsible for conducting and submitting child’s quarterly progress reports in timely fashion
• Provide training for teachers; aids and parents on OT techniques to meet IFSP goals
• Evaluates for and teaches use of assistive tech. equipment and other adaptive equipment for ADLs
• Supervise Center COTAS
• Responsible to attend staff mtgs. to discuss children’s progress
• Provide parent workshops to address strategies and technique to meet child speech and communication goals, via parent carry over

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work closely with children between the ages of 0-3
• Comfortable communicating with family or caregivers of children via daily communication log; emails and phone calls
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for professional and parent workshops.
• Candidates must possess the necessary license, registration or certification to provide early intervention services.
• Licensed and currently registered to practice occupational therapy in the State of New York
• Minimum one (1) year supervised experience in health care setting
• Graduate of Association or that program in Occupational Therapy registered by NYS or by the American Occupational Therapy is deemed equivalent
